Omnogovi Aimag Khanbogd Soum March 02, 2021
The TPC held its meeting on March 02, 2021, in a hybrid format. Representatives from the Khanbogd Soum Administration, herders, and Oyu Tolgoi LLC attended the meeting at the Citizens’ Development Center, following COVID-19 precautionary measures, while some OT representatives participated online.
During the meeting, the Council discussed the agenda items in detail and made the following decisions:
- Seven (7) petitions and requests submitted by local herders were discussed and resolved. It was agreed that the Council’s decisions would be communicated to the petitioners by March 16, 2021.
- The Council reviewed issues related to the operational expenses of the herders’ representatives and decided to provide monthly operational cost reimbursements based on actual performance, effective from January 2021.
- The Council noted that the tender for the selection of an independent secretary had been extended until February 26, 2021, to allow sufficient time for local companies to participate, and one local company had expressed interest. The tender process will proceed to the next stage accordingly.
- It was agreed to announce a local closed tender starting from March 09, 2021, to select a contractor for the repair of 20 manual wells (hand pumps) used by herders in Khanbogd Soum.
