Tripartite Council Established
The parties established the Tripartite Council and signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Formed in 2015, the Khanbogd Soum Tripartite Council consists of equal representation from the Soum Administration, local herders, and Oyu Tolgoi LLC.

Herders’ Complaint Resolution Agreement Signed
In 2012 and 2013, herders from Khanbogd Soum submitted complaints to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) regarding the impacts of the Oyu Tolgoi mine on local water and pasture resources and herder livelihoods.

Experience Sharing Meeting Held
In March 2019, the CAO and the Tripartite Council jointly organized an official event to mark the closure of the herders’ complaints.
Independent Secretariat Introduced
In accordance with Chapter 6 of the TPC Charter—and to ensure the independence of the parties, equal participation, effective coordination, and transparency—the Mongolian Council for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility NGO was selected as the TPC’s Independent Secretariat
