The Tripartite Council was initially composed of 15 members, with five representatives each from the Khanbogd Soum Administration, local herders, and Oyu Tolgoi LLC. To enhance herders’ participation, the number of herder representatives was later expanded to include three representatives from each bagh (four baghs in total) of Khanbogd Soum. As a result, the Council now consists of 22 members in total, including 12 herder representatives. The Council’s chairmanship rotates annually among leading representatives of the three parties. Currently, the Chairperson of the Council is S. Dorjderem, Manager, Community Assistance and Partnership, Oyu Tolgoi LLC. The Council’s Management Unit is formed by three leading members, one appointed by each party.
